"Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Appreciate your friends. Continue to learn. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is." - Mary Anne Radmacher
For the past seven years, Corinne has helped hundreds of individuals and couples reach greater levels of happiness and connection in their lives and relationships. With specialized training in couple and family therapy, Corinne understands that healthy relationships - including the relationships we have with ourselves - are essential for living joyful, meaningful, fully engaged lives! Whether she's working with an individual or a couple, Corinne uses her skills in relational therapy to help clients process their experiences, better understand their strengths and values, and make positive changes.
Corinne works with clients experiencing several concerns, including: depression and anxiety, relationship distress and transitions, communication issues, infidelity, self-esteem and body image, personal identity concerns, grief and loss, stress management, etc. Whatever the concerns, Corinne is passionate about personal growth and helping clients live their best lives.
In her work with clients, Corinne uses a variety of therapeutic approaches, including: Dialogic, Solution Focused, Emotion Focused, Narrative, Cognitive Behavioural, Mindfulness-based, and Response-based Therapies. She recently completed her Level 1 and 2 training in Emotion-Freedom Technique - an evidence-based technique for reducing stress and treating physical and emotional pain. Corinne also practices Eco-therapy, at times bringing the therapy work outdoors, as she believes that nature is transformative. As Edward Abbey writes:
"Wilderness is not a luxury, but a necessity of the human spirit."
In Spring 2017, Corinne will be completing her certification in Body Psychotherapy, helping clients strengthen their mind-body connection. Corinne believes that compassion, courage, connection, enriching conversation, and humour are all important elements of the healing process and they each inform her therapeutic style. She believes that healing happens at a heart level and, whichever approach she uses based on a client's particular needs, Corinne ultimately strives to help clients connect with their heart, deepen their relationships, and live their highest purpose.
Corinne runs her therapy practice out of New Roots Therapy in Whitby, Ontario, where she is also the Clinic Co-owner. New Roots Therapy offers counselling, behaviour, and naturopathic services to individuals, couples, and families.
In addition to her work with clients, Corinne offers Clinical Supervision to Qualifying Members of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
